A report this summer from a disability rights advocacy group makes the case for accurate census data so that “people with disabilities are fairly represented in federal decision-making and receive the resources, services, and protections they need to thrive.”
“To continue the discussion around the disability ACS questions and prepare for the decennial Census,” the National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) convened a discussion on the topic and turned the findings into a July 2026 report, “Make It Count: Strengthening Disability Data through Partnership, Participation, and Representation.” It aims to offer a roadmap for future advocacy and policy discussions related to disability representation in federal data systems.
The report builds on a webinar from earlier in the spring.
The group also recently shared a toolkit and outreach planning outline.
