House Appropriations Committee Accepting Public Written Testimony

For organizations that want to submit written statements of support for funding the U.S. Census Bureau in Fiscal Year 2027, the House Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations Subcommittee is currently accepting public testimony. The deadline to submit is May 8, 2026. The submission instructions are posted here.

Interested organizations are encouraged to use information in The Census Project’s FY 2027 funding recommendation in their own submissions to the CJS Appropriations Subcommittee. 

The Senate CJS Appropriations Subcommittee has not announced its instructions nor deadline for receiving FY 2027 written testimony. The Census Project will alert stakeholders when the Senate deadline is available.
