Florida AG asks Census Bureau to exclude ‘illegal’ immigrants and their children from being counted

The Attorney General of Florida announced that he filed a petition with the Census Bureau to “return to historical Census-taking standards” such as asking about citizenship and immigration status and excluding from the count people who are in the U.S. temporarily or without proper documents, as well as their children.

Monday, the Office of Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the petition request, stating that it follows the release of data showing that Florida is among the “red states” that were undercounted in the 2020 U.S. Census, while overcounting “blue states.”
