Share

On June 23, 2025, the Texas Census Institute (TxCI) released its annual report. The report outlines the work that TxCI has done to ensure every Texan is counted.

Established in 2021, TxCI was founded following the 2020 Census in which the Census Bureau determined Texas was undercounted by more than 550,000 people. According to the TxCI, this undercount resulted in “an estimated $25 billion loss in federal funding over the next decade.” The Institute works at the “state, regional, and local levels to support the decennial census and the American Community Survey to improve the accuracy of census data.”
