House Appropriations Committee Plans to Mark Up FY 2026 Legislation

The House Appropriations Committee has scheduled markup for the Commerce Justice Science (CJS) appropriations legislation for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY 2026).

The CJS Subcommittee will consider the FY 2026 bill at 6pm on July 14, 2025. The full Appropriations Committee will follow suit at 10am on July 17.

The Senate Appropriations Committee has made no similar announcements yet.

Stakeholders are still waiting to see the President’s budget proposal for FY 2026; all we have so far is a skinny budget. The most recent sign-on letter from Census Project stakeholders requested $2 billion for FY 2026.
