New Study Predicts More Costs/Less Accuracy If Citizenship Question Added to 2020 Census

A new study by Georgetown Law’s Center on Poverty and Inequality asserts that “inclusion of a citizenship question on the 2020 Census is likely to increase costs and compromise census accuracy.”

The report, authored by demographer William O’Hare, looks at non-response rates to a citizenship question currently posed on the American Community Survey (ACS).
